Ken Szymanski, DDS

When Dr. Ken Szymanski isn't commanding the Simi or Oxnard Space Stations, he can usually be found in front of his computer or on the links enjoying a round of golf.

He also likes to work in his kitchen preparing "gourmet" meals for his wife, Patty, and their two cats, Sparky and Cinder. He is a graduate of University of Detroit Dental School and received his specialty certification in Pediatric Dentistry from UCLA Harbor General Hospital. He also participates in frequent continuing education programs to keep current in pediatric dentistry's latest trends.

Nina J. Mandelman, DDS

With a keen interest in theater and film, Dr. Nina Mandelman enjoys going to the movies or plays when not working with the kids at the Simi Space Station. A good game of tennis or a long jog keep her relaxed and fit.

Before coming aboard, she received her dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry and general practice residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago. She completed her pediatric dental residency at the University of Southern California. She continues to do volunteer work in the field of pediatric dentistry and education.

Ahsan S. Raza, DDS

Communication and interaction is a big part of how Dr. Ahsan Raza cares for his patients, and this, combined with his humanitarian volunteer work and extensive research efforts has earned him many commendations throughout the galaxy. He received his Bachelor of Arts from California State University and his Dental and Pediatric Dental Specialty degrees from USC, where he also completed his pediatric dental residency.

Dr. Raza enjoys blasting off to new and exciting places here at home or around the solar system, and is a big fan of ice hockey and USC football. He and his wife are the proud parents of a new baby girl.

Vincent Smith, DDS

Orthodontist Vincent Smith graduated from UCLA in 1970, continuing on to receive his degree in dentistry. Following seven years of general dentistry practice in Santa Barbara, he returned to UCLA and obtained a specialty degree in orthodontics.

With Children's Dental group since 1986, Dr. Vincent Smith works in both the Camarillo and Simi Space Stations. Dr. Vincent and his wife, Carey, live in Camarillo where they enjoy golf, biking and snow skiing.

Peter Galgano, DDS

When not zooming off to faraway places with his wife Stephanie, Dr. Peterr Galgano provides expert orthodontic care to our young patients who visit Simi Space Station. Before his interstellar adventures brought him aboard as the newest member of our "flight crew", he practiced orthodontics for eighteen years in the Pacific Northwest.

Dr. Galgano received his dental education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, and completed his specialized training in orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania.

Cathy Chien, DDS

A desire to explore led Thousand Oaks native Dr. Cathy Chien to the far reaches of the galaxy, but after receiving her B.A. from UCSD, her dental education at UCLA, and her resident training at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Cathy has returned home to Ventura County. Life on other worlds just couldn't compete with being a commander at our Simi Valley and Oxnard space stations, providing clinical instruction at UCLA's School of Dentistry, volunteering for Camp Laurel and Equestrian Therapy, and enjoying the outdoors on horseback or at the beach with her family.

Jennifer Horton, DDS

Dr. Jennifer Horton commands the elite interplanetary orthodontic squadrons at our Camarillo and Simi Valley space stations, and is held in high esteem by her galactic colleagues, earned a dental degree from USC, a specialty degree in orthodontics from St. Louis University, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. When off-duty, Dr. Horton volunteers in the community, enjoys playing tennis, reading, and painting, or retreating to more relaxing corners of Planet Earth, like the beach or the family ranch in Somis, with her husband Ryan and daughter Annika.
